Dwight Garnell Jenkins' Obituary
On February 9, 1956, Dwight Garnell Jenkins also known as (Fat Man) was born to the late Weldon and Louise Jenkins of Reids Grove, MD. He departed this life September 5, 2020 at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
He attended Dorchester County School while working at an early age. He loved being with family, playing and coaching basketball, attending basketball games, watching football, baking and farming. His favorite color was blue, and he loved the Dallas Cowboys football team. He attended Zoar United Methodist Church in Reids Grove, MD.
He had many occupations. He was employed at the Acme Market, Continental Canning Company, and contracted farm work.
Later he went on to marry the love of his life Sherlmaine Jenkins on June, 25, 2005.
He was preceded in death by (parents) Weldon and Louise Jenkins, (brothers) Royce and Weldon Jenkins Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Dwayne Jenkins, DaWaun Jenkins, of Baltimore, MD, Tyrelle Beulah (Nancy) of Federalsburg, MD, as well as Tremaine Thomas (Mary) and Tynisha Thomas of Hurlock, MD which he raised as his own, and a stepdaughter Natasha Williams (Roy) of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers Ellsworth Jenkins, Renwick Jenkins, two sisters, Olgazia Blake (Aaron), and Tanya Jenkins, all of Reids Grove, MD. Four brothers-in-law, Alvin Lake (Wanda), Leroy Lake (Diana), Percy Lake Jr. (Ida), Preston Lake of Hurlock, MD, 2 sisters-in-law, Vandoria Lake of Oklahoma City, OK and Patricia Lake of Madison, MD and special friends Ricky Harding, Jeff Harding, Harrety Brinsfield, and Michael Pittman all of Hurlock, MD. 15 grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A walk through viewing will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. Masks are required and no seating will be provided. Guests are asked to come and respect social distancing and keep moving through to allow more guests to enter behind you. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Thompsontown Cemetery in East New Market.
