Earl Charles Stauffer's Obituary
Earl Charles Stauffer of Fountain, CO, and formerly of Preston, MD passed away on October 7, 2015. He was 62.
He was born on September 2, 1953 in Lancaster, PA, the son of the late Earl Christian Stauffer and Lucyll Embry Stauffer.
Earl graduated from St. Paul’s School in 1971. After studying at Elmira College, Earl enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served as an Aircraft Loadmaster on the C-5 Galaxy, in the 326th Airlift Squadron at Dover Air Force Base. Earl served in the Air Force Reserves for over 9 years, receiving many medals and decorations. He later worked for Norfolk and Southern Rail Road as a yard master in Harrington and Christiana, Delaware.
Earl enjoyed his final years living in Colorado, basking in the view of Pike’s Peake from his front porch. When he wasn’t riding his beloved Harley or target shooting, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and hiking in the Colorado Rockies. Above all these things, Earl loved his family the most.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Paul Stauffer of Rhodesdale, MD, three children: Laura Stauffer Parks and her husband David of Hampstead, MD, Earl Christian Stauffer of Albuquerque, NM, and Sarah Katherine Stauffer of Easton, MD; and two granddaughters: Richelle Vera Kuleshov and Sarina Pearl Stauffer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Victor Stauffer.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 3:00pm at the Federalsburg V.F.W. Post #5246 in Federalsburg with the Reverend Ronnie James officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Following the service, the family would like to invite anyone for a memorial ride on their motorcycle to honor Earl. Inurnment will be at a later date and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Rd, Cambridge MD. Or do one better, and adopt your next pet from a local shelter, like Earl loved to do. He loved rescuing the dogs that no one else would.
