Edgel Hall's Obituary
Edgel Hall died at his home near Seaford on Thursday, December 23, 2010. He was 69.
He was born in Richwood, West Virginia on May 9, 1941 the son of the late Waitman and Laura M. King Hall. A sister, Garnett Hall also preceded him in death. He first came to Delaware to work as a D. J. for a Seaford radio station. He then worked for E. I. Dupont Nylon Plant for a time, leaving to work for United Parcel, before going back to E. I. Dupont where he worked as a spinning machine operator, retiring as a staples machine operator in 1998. He was currently working for Cardinal Health in Laurel as a delivery technician. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, astronomy, working in his green house, woodworking, playing his guitar, tinkering with various projects, was an avid reader and for a time he had his private pilot’s license. He was a member of V. F. W. Post 4961 in Seaford, DE. He is survived by four children, James (Kathy) Hitchens of Seaford, Jason Hall of New York, Tanya Hall of Federalsburg and Matthew Hall of Greenwood, DE, five grandchildren, Kenneth Hudson, James Hitchens, Jr., Twyla Jester, Owen Hall and Ethan Hall and two great-grandchildren, Alexa and Victoria Hudson, four brothers, Bradley Hall of Ft. Wayne, IN, Elbert Hall of Richwood, WVA, Alvin Hall of Seaford, DE and Kenneth E. Hall of Greenwood, DE, and four sisters, Frances Aurthur of Greenwood, DE, Evelina Marlowe of Richwood, WVA, Iris N. Murphy of Laurel, DE and Elloise Martin of Seaford, many nieces and nephews and his friend and ex-wife, Bernice McCabe Hall of Greenwood, DE. There will be no formal funeral service for him but friends and family may call at Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. located at 216 N. Main Street in Federalsburg, MD on Wednesday evening, December 29, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family has requested that donations be made in his memory to Virgil Wilson V. F. W. Post 4961, P. O. Box 496, Seaford, DE 19973.
