Edith C. Higgins' Obituary
Edith Caulk Higgins of Neavitt passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Talbot Hospice. She was 97.
She was born on September 18, 1919 in Bozman and was the daughter of the late John Caulk and Lena M. Lamdin. She was married to Richard Higgins, Sr., who preceded her in death.
Edith along with her husband and son started a successful family soft shell crab business in which she was very involved. She was dedicated to her family and loved visiting and talking with friends. She enjoyed reading and was a very active and social person in her community. She was a member of Neavitt United Methodist Church and Ladies Group, where she was actively involved for many years.
She is survived by her son Richard Higgins,Jr and his wife Norma of Neavitt, a daughter Katherine and her Husband Robert (Pie) Haddaway also of Neavitt. Her four grandchildren Jean and Susan Higgins of Neavitt , Bradley Higgins (Suzanne) of St. Michaels and Heather Haddaway Jones (Michael) of Baltimore. Also 3 Great grandchildren Christina H. Gordy of Ocean City, Reese Harrison of Neavitt and Bodhi Jones of Baltimore and 2 great great grand daughters Grace and Julia Gordy of Ocean City. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Higgins ,Sr. , a granddaughter Candace (Kandi) D. Haddaway and a grandson Mark S. Higgins.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Neavitt United Methodist Church with the Reverend Marin Willey officiating. Interment will follow at Neavitt Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in St. Michaels.
