Edith Jane Fortney's Obituary
Edith Jane Fortney, formerly of Federalsburg, MD, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009 at Envoy of Denton, Denton, MD. She was 98 years old.
She was born March 10, 1911 in Hobbs, MD, the daughter of the late George and Eliza Trice Porter. Her husband, Carl Fortney, preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 1967.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two siblings Henry C. Porter and Dorothy E. Williams, both of Federalsburg, several nieces and nephews, and dear friend, Annie McGlothin of Federalsburg. A daughter, Betty Jane Martin, a brother Ernest “Tubby” Porter, and a good friend Charles Blockston, all preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Denton Cemetery, Denton, MD. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 – 2 p.m.
