Edward Harding's Obituary
Edward Harding of Vienna, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Maryland. He was 80.
He was born on January 24, 1923 in Cambridge, Maryland the son of the late William and Marie Sutliff Harding.
He was married to Marleen Carneal Harding who preceded him in death on July 23, 2005.
After receiving his education, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard where he served from 1956-1975 retired as a E7 Chief. Later he worked for Dorchester General Hospital as the director of maintenance.
He was a past member of the Moose Lodge in Seaford, and the American Legion of Cambridge, the Vienna Ruritan Club and the Federalsburg VFW Post # 5246. He was a former member of the Reid’s Grove United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his Son, Matthew Harding and his wife Lisa of Vienna, five grandchildren, Kayla Harding and Ciarra Wroten both of Vienna, Emily Strawbridge of Federalsburg, Jeremy Harding and Kyle Harding both of Seaford, DE, two sisters, Joyce Wheatley of Seaford, DE, and Edna Donovan of Seaford, DE, two brothers Richard Harding of Centreville, VA, and Norman Harding of Federalsburg, MD.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Edward W. Harding, Jr., and two sisters, Mary Louise Murphy and Ann Clark.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 1:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Bill Murphy officiating. Inurnment will follow in Unity-Washington Cemetery in Hurlock. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
