Edward H. Higgins, Jr.'s Obituary
Edward H. Higgins, Jr. McDaniel, Edward Harper Higgins, Jr. of McDaniel, died at his home on Sunday, February 14, 2016. He was 59. Born in Easton, MD; on November 25, 1956, he was the son of the late Edward H. Sr. and Barbara C. Higgins. After graduating from St. Michaels High School in 1974, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Following his release from active duty he returned to Talbot County where he began a lifelong career as a commercial waterman. Eddie will always be remembered for his free-spirit, quick wit, and his willingness to "tell it like it is". Eddie is survived by his daughter Megan L. Higgins, two brothers; Robert D. Higgins and his wife Terry of Oxford, Glenn C. Higgins of St. Michaels, one sister; Patti L. Spiering of Salisbury, two special step-children Tahlia and Nestor. In addition he is survived by his former wife and long time friend; Valerie J. Haddaway of Easton, and Eleanor Spurry whom he thought of as his second mother, girlfriend Brooke Bradley, nieces and nephews; Jordan Beaulieu, Alex Hughes, Tyler Spiering, Daniel Spiering, Adam Higgins, and Meredith Higgins. Friends may visit on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Ostrowski Funeral Home P.A. 312 S. Talbot Street St. Michaels, from 6:00 to 8:00PM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 20, 2016 at Christ Episcopal Church, St. Michaels, at 11:00AM. Burial will be private.
