Edward J. Dwyer, Sr.
Newcomb, Edward J. Dwyer, Sr, “Ted or E.J.†as he was known, died at the William Hill Manor, Easton, on Thursday June 19, 2014. He was 89. Born on March 8, 1925 in Syracuse, N.Y. he was the son of the late John Daniel and Mary Dorsey Dwyer. He attended St. Patrick’s High School, graduating class of 1942. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1943, serving in the Philippines during WWII. After being honorably discharged in 1945, he attended the university of Notre Dame in 1946, graduating Cum Laude in 1950, He worked as Vice President of Sales at JOSAM Manufacturing in Michigan City, IN. from 1950 to 1970, he then began E.J. Dwyer Plumbing Products. On November 4, 1977, he married Janet Latka Callahan, They made their home in Baltimore, until moving to the eastern shore in the late 1990’s. Mr. Dwyer was a member of, Sts. Peter & Paul Parish where he was actively involved in the choir and Eucharistic Ministry. Other memberships include, ASME, ASPE, and Notre Dame Club of Maryland. In addition to his wife Mr. Dwyer is survived by his four children; Kathleen M. Dwyer Stephens, Mary P. Dwyer Siegler, Edward J. Dwyer, Jr., and Shelia M. Dwyer. Three Step-Children; Susan Callahan Aistrup, Paul W. Callahan, and Wendy Callahan Roland, eighteen Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children Sharon A. Dwyer and Daniel J. Dwyer. A funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Wednesday June 25, 2014 at the St. Michaels Catholic Mission Church, Lincoln Ave. St. Michaels. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00PM at the Ostrowski Funeral Home, 312S Talbot St. St. Michaels, MD. Burial will be at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD. 21601
