Edward "Hoss" Wright's Obituary
Edward Martin Wright of Preston, MD, better known as “Hoss”, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years old.
He was born November 10, 1931 in McDaniel, MD, the son of the late Daniel Webster Wright and Mary Anna Legg Wright.
He was a farmer working on the family farm for many years and also was a waterman. He served in the National Guard Reserves from 1949-1959. He also had worked at Norris Taylor in Easton as a concrete batcher, a heavy equipment operator, and as a foreman for many years. He was a member of the Easton Moose Lodge where he had served as an elected board member.
Hoss is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Ruth Ann Kraegenbrink Wright whom he married July 14, 1956, five children, Harold Kraegenbrink and his wife, Shirley of Preston, Dorothy “Peaches” Makas and her husband, Daniel, of Mardella Springs, David Wright of Preston, Donnie Wright and his wife, Donna Lee, of Denton, Daniel Wright of Seaford, DE, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, four sisters, Dorothy Richards of Harmony, Martha Hadaway of Laurel, DE, Libby Ewing of Federalsburg, Sarah Colburn of Harrington, DE, a brother, James Wright of Trappe, and special children near and dear to his heart, James Quick of Hurlock, Inez Eckeard of Preston, Janet Trent of Hagerstown, Dawn Cheezum Of Preston, and many other friends that have been blessed by his presence here on earth. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Wright.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Dan Walker officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, April 5, from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
