Eileen W. Behme
St. Michaels, Eileen Weseman Behme of St. Michaels died peacefully at her home, with her family at her side on Monday, September 5, 2011. She was 90.
Born on July 24, 1921 in Newark, N.J. she was the daughter of the late Edward Weseman and May Jackson Weseman. After graduating from Westside High school in 1938, she was employed as a salesperson for a short time until she married Charles W. Behme, in 1940. They made their home in Bedminster, N.J. where Mrs. Behme was employed by the Peapack-Gladstone Bank in Gladstone N.J. and later as a Deputy Administrator fo the Clerk of the Court in Bedminster. Following her retirement in 1987 she and her husband moved to St. Michaels. .
Mrs. Behme was a member of S.S. Peter & Paul Parish, where she attended the St. Michaels Mission Chapel. She was also a member of the 70+ Ski Club having learned to ski at the age of 69.
In addition to her husband of 71 years, Mrs. Behme is survived by two daughters; Barbara B. Fajnor, and husband John, Charleen Demetrio and husband James, Grandchildren; Christine Owens, John W. Fajnor, Lisa F. Karcher,Charles W. Fajnor, Jennifer Sparo, Holly Zaklarenko and Alyssa Brodrick. Also survied by eleven Great-grandchildren, one sister June Kavolius, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Wesley E. Behme who died while serving in the U.S. Navy in 1966.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, September 9, 2011 at the Hurley & Ostrowski Funeral Home P.A. St. Michaels.
Burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery- Easternshore, Hurlock, Md. Memorial donations may be made to the Talbot County Humane Society 7894 Ocean Gateway P.O. Box 1143 Easton, MD 21601
