Eileen Virginia Caulk's Obituary
Eileen Virginia Bradshaw Caulk of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Walkersville, MD. She was 87 years old.
She was born May 20, 1921 in Secretary, MD, the daughter of the late Reginald Brooks Bradshaw and Hester Virginia Hackett Bradshaw. Her husband, William Francis Caulk, Sr. preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1995. They had been married since June 21, 1939.
She was a Hurlock High School graduate of class 1938. In addition to being a farm wife she was employed at E.I. DuPont in the 40’s and she managed the Hi-Way Restaurant in Federalsburg in the 50’s. Mrs. Caulk was a lifetime Methodist and a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she served in the choir for over 65 years. She loved to cook and had great pleasure in preparing her speciality foods and watching people enjoy them. She enjoyed going to their trailer at the beach and going on ski trips to PA and WV and vacationing in various locations with friends. She also enjoyed selling flowers and vegetable plants for her son and participating in the Baltimore Farmers’ Market for over 20 years.
She is survived by two children, William F. “Billy” Caulk, Jr. (Danee) of Federalsburg and Nelda C. Cassell (Larry) of Jefferson, MD, son-in-law, Balvin B. Brinsfield (Pam), five grandchildren, Laura C. Atkinson (Randy), Emily C. Mass (J.T.), Valerie, Benjamin , and Joshua Brinsfield , 2 great-grandsons, A.J. and Zak, 2 sisters-in-law, Hazel Welch (Irvin) and Louise Behnen, a devoted and adopted family member, Janella Boehm, and many nieces and nephews. The family appreciated the help of so many neighbors and friends, especially Willie Johnson. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Nancy Caulk Brinsfield who died December 1989, and a great-granddaughter, Allie. She was the last of her immediate family of 7 siblings, Harold Brooks Bradshaw, Leon Bernard Bradshaw, Thomas Robert Bradshaw, Anna Augusta Medford and Shirley Mooney Todd, and infant twins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Karen Bongard, Rev. Denzil Cheek and Rev. Dan Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
