Eleanor F. Nimmo's Obituary
Eleanor F. Nimmo, formerly of River Road, Hurlock, MD, passed away on Wed. Jan. 20, 2010 at the Vantage House in Columbia, MD. She was 94.
She was born March 7, 1915 in Belfast, Ireland, daughter of the late George F. and Nina Baastad Goltenboth. Her husband, Richard Stanley Nimmo, preceded her in death.
She immigrated with her parents to the United States in 1919 and became a citizen in 1926. She worked as a bookkeeper for Federal Paper & Chemical Co. in Federalsburg, retiring after 20 years of service. She traveled extensively and loved music and art. She was an avid watercolor painter. She was an active member of the former Homemakers Club. She was a Founding Director of Chesapeake Rehabilitation Center in Easton and was a Founding Director of The Arc of Talbot County.
She is survived by 4 children, Joyce A. Nimmo of Hurlock, Ruth E. Nimmo of Clarksville, MD, Christine M. Nimmo of Sapphire Beach, New South Wales, Australia, and Stanley F. Nimmo of Clarksville; 3 granddaughters, Stephanie Warner, Kate Visciani, and Alexandra Bradley; 5 great-grandchildren, Maura Warner, Asha Warner, Jordan Visciani, Jenna Visciani, and Wyatt Bradley; a sister Frieda Sennert of Clifton, NJ, niece Nina Klett and her husband David, and great nephews Richie and Steven Klett.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
