Elizabeth Marie Behrens' Obituary
Elizabeth Marie "Betsy" Behrens, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on May 25, 2024, at her home in Greenwood. She was 85 years old.
Born on January 18, 1939 in Washington, DC the daughter of the late William Owen Watson and Helen Phelps Watson. Betsy worked at the National Science Foundation before retiring to Delaware to spend time in her garden and with her family, particularly her grandchildren whom she adored. She enjoyed attending St Johnstown United Methodist Church in Greenwood.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Richard Behrens of Greenwood, DE, and her children: Diane Mielke of Denton, MD; Janice Teahan and husband Michael of Mt Vernon, NY; Pamela Moore of Dunkirk, MD; and Harry Moore and his wife Rose of Riva, VA. Betsy is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her brother, Jack DuVall of Croom, MD.
Graveside Funeral services for Betsy will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 11:00 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE 19966.
Betsy's legacy of love and kindness will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
