Elizabeth Ann Richardson's Obituary
Elizabeth Ann Richardson best known as "Kibby", a beloved, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dedicated homemaker, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on May 10, 1935 in Delmar, MD the daughter of the late James Walter Truitt and Lillian Whayland Truitt, Elizabeth lived a life filled with love, hard work, and deep roots in her cherished community of Federalsburg, Maryland.
A proud graduate of Colonel Richardson High School, class of 1953, Elizabeth married her soulmate, Robert R. Richardson, and together they cultivated not only the land of their family farm but also a nurturing home filled with warmth and kindness. Elizabeth worked alongside her husband on their farm well into her 80's, embodying a spirit of dedication and resilience that inspired all who knew her. Robert preceded her in death on October 8, 2010 after 53 years of marriage.
Elizabeth was an active member of Union United Methodist Church in Federalsburg, where she touched the lives of many as a Sunday School teacher. Her talents extended beyond the church, as she became well-known in the community for her exquisite baking, crafting beautiful cakes for weddings and special events. With her keen sewing skills, she created countless dresses for proms, weddings, Halloween costumes, and clothing for her children, showcasing her creativity and love for her family.
She is survived by three children: Kimberly Love and her husband Robert of Denton, R. Michael Richardson of Federalsburg and Kelly Henry and her husband Alan of Millsboro; seven grandchildren: Bobby Love, Billy Love, Jimmy Love, Paul Richardson, Laura Edwards, Rick Henry and John Henry; six great grandchildren: Will Love, Audrey Love, Wesley Love, Henry Richardson, Elliott Edwards and Owen Edwards, one sister-in-law, June Truitt and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Esther Truitt and Mary Ellen Moneymaker, one brother James "Jim" Truitt, a daughter-in-law, Sheila Richardson and her beloved "Molly" dog.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 11:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. A private family interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 on Saturday.
