Elizabeth Stanford's Obituary
Elizabeth Stanford, 98, known as "Mother Stanford" passed away to her eternal rest on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Salisbury Center, Genesis Eldercare.
She was born to the late Arthur Stephens and Mattie Kimball on October 17, 1914 in Albany, Georgia.
Elizabeth had worked in farming in Georgia, Florida, and in Federalsburg along with working at John Wright Canning House and Caroline Poultry for a number of years. Before retiring she worked twenty-three years at the Federalsburg Senior Center in the Food Service Department. She had been a member of St. Luke Church of God in Christ in Federalsburg for over thirty years where she served in every capacity. Upon the passing of her beloved Pastor Rev. Wallace she transferred her membership to Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Wanda Lake. She will be fondly remembered as making and selling freezecups to the neighborhood to raise money for the church.
She is survived by 9 grandchildren Gretha Sutton, Faye, Gregory, Jenette, Carolyn, Jessie Jr., Norman Jr., Kim, and Shawn; 21 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; special nieces, Mary Brown and Josie Craft, and her favorite neice, ShirleyBellamy, dear friends Essie Mae Beulah,Georgiane Chase, and the Wallace Family, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jessie Robinson and James Robinson, three grandchildren Jacqueline, Leonard and Keith, one great-grandchild, four brothers and one step-sister.
