Elizabeth Irene Venable's Obituary
Greenwood, De. Elizabeth " Irene" (Dean) Venable, age 86 passed away on May 28, 2021.
Irene was born on September 8, 1934 in Elkton, Md. She attended High School in Bridgeville, DE and graduated in 1952. Following graduation, she was employed by I. E. DuPont in Seaford, later the Ace Dress Factory, and finally she became a Nursing Tech and worked at the Milford Manor which later became Genesis Healthcare. She retired from there after
30 years of service.
She enjoyed word search puzzles, game and music shows, singing country and gospels songs with her husband, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.
Irene is survived by her husband of 68 years David V. Venable I, whom she married in 1953, two children; Sharon Alley, David Venable II (Glenda), eight grandchildren; John (Lisa), Kristin (Trisha), Garrett (Brittany) Harrington, Shawn, Jesse (Chelsea), Brandon Knox, Kayla Hollinger, and Nate Seeley, 11 great grandchildren. Also survived by three siblings and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters, one daughter and son-law; Bonnie and Billy Knox.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday June 2, 2021 at the Framptom Funeral Home-Fleischauer Chapel, Greenwood, De; where friends may visit with the family from 1pm until 2pm.
Burial will be in the St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood, De. ( Please visit www.framptom.com.)
