Elizabeth Jane Wheatley's Obituary
Elizabeth Jane Rieben Wheatley, 74, passed away at Coastal Hospice By the Lake in Salisbury on Saturday, March 24, 2007, surrounded by her family. She was born on Jan. 9, 1933 in Bridgeton, N.J., daughter of the late John Eugene Rieben and Gladys Jones Rieben.
She was an insurance secretary. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Cambridge. She loved her garden and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Wheatley is survived by her husband of 56 years, James D. Wheatley Sr., who she married on Oct. 15, 1950; three children, William "Billy" Wheatley, James "David" Wheatley Jr. and his wife, Eddie, all of Cambridge, Jacqueline Messenger and her husband, Tom of Brookeville; 10 grandchildren, Heather Wheatley-Foust, Laura Messenger, Rebecca Wheatley-Wilson, James Bryan Edmondson, Jonathan Messenger, James David Wheatley III, Alexandra Wheatley, William Messenger, Olga Messenger, Ashton Wheatley; two great-grandchildren, Gracie Elizabeth Foust, Noland Shepherd; a sister, Jacqueline Walker of Lockhart, Texas and one brother, Jerry Jones of Spartansburg, S.C.
Funeral services will be held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Cambridge at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, with Pastor Paul Gates officiating. Friends may call the church from 1-3 p.m.
