Ella Mae Smith's Obituary
Ella Mae Smith of Easton passed away at UMSMC at Easton on Monday, July 6, 2015. She was 77.
She was born in Secretary, MD on September 27, 1937, the daughter of the late Ernest Leroy Moore and Belva Olivia Wilkerson Moore. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Preston Smith on September 29, 1999.
Ella Mae enjoyed going fishing with her family at Rooster Island, playing bingo, listening to Sweetwater Band, taking pictures of her family, and loved lottery scratch offs. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and she was loved by all.
She is survived by three children, Paul Moore (Jeannie) of Laurel, DE, Lisa Rash of Texas, Merritt Whitby, Jr. (Pamela) of Preston, 7 grandchildren, Sheena Bruce (Adam), Shawna Whitby (Steve Elzey), Melissa Carpenter, Jason Taylor, Jonathan Whitby (Ashley), Amber Stafford (Eddie), Cassandra Whitby, 20 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Carrie Lee Payne of Bethlehem, Dorothy Sard of Trappe, 6 nieces, and 2 nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Buddy Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made for Framptom Funeral Home, 216 North Main St., Federalsburg, MD 21632 to help defray funeral costs.
