Elwood Knotts' Obituary
Elwood Knotts of Seaford, and formerly of Federalsburg died at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE on Monday, June 2, 2014. He was 94.
He was born on Jan 12, 1920 in Greensboro, MD the son of the late Arlie and Lida Pearson Knotts. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Elsie Mae Knotts. He was a veteran of World War II serving as a Staff Sargent with the 5th Armored Division in the European Theatre in Normandy, Northern France and the Ardennes including the Battle of the Bulge from February of 1942 to October of 1945. He received the Distinguished Unit Badge. He later worked for several years for the former Service Trucking Company in Federalsburg. He was a Life Member of V F W Post 5246 in Federalsburg and was also a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Federalsburg where he was a former member of the Trustee Board. He is survived by his wife, Margaret McWilliams Knotts, step-children, Michael McWilliams and his wife Loretta of Salisbury, MD and James McWilliams and his wife Mary of Abingdon, MD, three grandchildren, Rachael, Leah and Ryan McWilliams, a sister, Betty Schulties of Greensboro, MD and a brother, Paul Knotts of Denton. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Frank Knotts and a sister, Pearl Bullock Gillespie. Funeral services for him will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. James Michael officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00-1:00 p.m.. Serving as pallbearers will be; Michael McWilliams, James McWilliams, Ryan McWilliams and John Beauchamp. The family has requested that donations be made in his memory to Christ Church Choir, c/o Gloria Dill, 2764 Lorraine Avenue Federalsburg, MD 21632.
