Emily Jane "Em" Jackson's Obituary
Emily Jane “Em” Jackson of Vienna, MD passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD. She was 80 year old.
Born July 21, 1930 in Reids Grove, MD, daughter of the late John and Maggie Smith Dennis. Her husband, Clarence E. Jackson, Sr. preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1997.
“Em” as she was fondly known as graduated from St. Clair High School in Cambridge. She was an excellent seamstress and made clothes for all of her family members as well as owned her own business known as the Christian Sewing Center. She was a Christian for 47 years, Mother of the New Testament Church in Vienna, where she was a member of Trustee Board, Praise and Worship Leader, and a member of the Pastor’s Aide Committee.
She is survived by four children, William R. Jackson of Federalsburg, Clarence E. Jackson, Jr. of Vienna, John D. Jackson of Baltimore, and Tina L. Thompson and her husband Semuel of Vienna, four grandchildren, Lewanda Jackson, Semuel Thompson, Jr., Tina Thompson, Jr. and Clifford Brickhouse, Jr., two great-grandchildren, Lashaya Johnson and Immanuel Thompson; a sister Nona Dockins of Rhodesdale, many nieces and nephews and best friend Mary Evelyn Farrow. She was preceded in death by a son Clifton Brickhouse, Jr., four brothers, Clarence Dennis, Winfield Dennis, James Dennis, Elmer “Dukie” Dennis, and a sister Lula Mae “Sister” Woolford.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the
Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Lena M. Dennis officiating and Rev. Keiford O. Jackson assisting. Friends may call at the funeral home on
Tuesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
