To the family of a special person I feel blessed to have called my friend. I met Emma several years ago when I began working at Provident State Bank. I recently relocated to South Carolina and was unaware of Emma's passing until a few days ago. I share in your loss today and will cherish all of my wonderful memories forever. Emma, your strength, love and caring ways are something we will carry with us and hopefully learn from. I am so glad we met. You were a true blessing as a friend and I will miss you. Not one time did I ever see you that you didn't hug me and smile. Although I never called you mom, you treated me and my children as your own. You were there for me when I needed a mother but never tried to overstep and I am so very grateful for that. You had a smile that could light up a room no matter what battles you were fighting personally. Your courage and faith should and is an inspiration for all of us and I feel very proud to have known you and had you in my life. I feel very proud and grateful that heaven is now graced with two of the most bravest, couragous and beautiful angels that I have ever had in my life and looking out for me and my children now and forever more. In my life I have been blessed with three wonderful Mothers. You Emma were no exception. They say we all have a purpose on earth and I may not know mine but yours is so obvious. The love, kindness and strength you have taught so many is amazing. Your life here on earth was not an easy one but you handled it with grace and i am so proud you shared it with me. I thank God so much for the gift of Emma. Besides that anyone that can tame my Dad can't be all bad. Dad left us with you and now you left us with Jerry who in my eyes is an angel from heaven. Emma You brought me up when I was down.You made me happy when I thought I would be alone for the rest of my life. You made a wonderfull mother and Grandmother for my children,you have taugh me the meaning of courage and hope. Although I told you many times I loved you, I never could find the words to tell you how much.Throughout your fight with cancer I never saw you or heard you complain about your condition . Emma, we have placed your body in its eternal resting place but your the memories of the many years of talking, laughing, shopping, crying and just being together will remain with me forever. I ask myself today after all that is over, how can I get through the tomorrows without you. But I know the answer...as you told me many times about your struggle with cancer, "You just do it, and don't question it!"
