Ernest Clevon Lake, Sr.'s Obituary
Ernest Clevon Lake, Sr., of Hurlock, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016. He was 65.
He was born on February 25, 1951 in Dorchester County, a son of the late James Lake, Sr. and Mary Butler Lake. On July 12, 2003, he married the former Margaret Cephas Lake.
Ernest served in the United States Air Force from June of 1970 to August of 1971. He was employed as a truck driver for Hab Nabb Trucking for a number of years. He was currently employed at Sisco in Pocomoke. He enjoyed motorcylces, fishing, and drag racing especially the Delmar track. Most of all Ernest loved his family especially his children, grandchildren, and two beloved dogs, who were like his children. He was a former of the Thunder Guard Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Cephas Lake of Hurlock; four children Tervonda Lake Harris and her husband Herbert of North Carolina, Shonda Lake of Seaford, Ernest Lake,Jr. and his wife Sharonda of Laurel, and Angie Dotson Cephas and her husband Derrick of Hurlock; a step son Leon Lofland, III of Salisbury, thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three brothers Thomas Lake, Clayton Lake, and Richard Lake and his wife Elizabeth, three sisters Doris Palmer and her husband Leonard, Patricia Lake, and Marian Jones, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a son Marcus Lake.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Wanda Lake and Reverend Chester Friend officiating. Interment will take place on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock. Family will receive friends three hours prior to the service.
