Ethel M. Anderson's Obituary
Ethel M. Anderson of Delmar, DE passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007 at the Delmar Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Delmar, DE. She was 84 years old.
She was born June 25, 1923 in Cambridge, the daughter of the late Benjamin T. and Sarah Jackson Waller.
She had been employed by Vlassic Pickle Co. in Millsboro, DE for many years. She was a faithful member and one of the original founders of St. Matthews First Baptist Church in Laurel, DE where she served as president of the Missionary Board, Minister of Church, a member of St. Mathews Senior Choir, past president of the Pastor’s Aide Committee, and past president of the Kitchen Committee. She was also a member of the Sussex Mass Choir.
She is survived by her husband of over forty years, Cornelius Nathaniel Anderson, five children, Barbara Dodson of Washington, DC, Gregory Stevenson of Dallas, NC, Pete Anderson of Smyrna, DE, George Anderson of Laurel, DE and Gary Anderson of Laurel, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, five siblings, Eleanor, Linwood, Howard, David, and James Waller, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Douglas Townsend and Patrick Dodson, and three brothers, Andrew, Edward and Herbert Waller.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthews First Baptist Church in Laurel with Rev. Nathan McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in St. Matthews Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 6:00 TO 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m.
