Eugene Dallas Quidas' Obituary
Eugene Dallas Quidas of Tanyard, near Preston, died at University Hospital in Baltimore on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018. He was 84.
He was born in Easton, MD on August 17, 1933 the son of the late August J. and Nellie M. (Kennedy) Quidas. He was a graduate of Preston High School Class of 1951. He was a Veteran serving in the United States Army entering active duty on April 15, 1953. He completed Basic training at Camp Breckinridge, KY and Camp Gordon, GA. He was later assigned to the Headquarters for Army Security Agency, Germany, with the 101st Airborn “Screaming Eagles”.
He worked at Southern States in Preston, and also worked many years for Waverly Press as a type-setter and supervisor. After retirement he worked many part time jobs to stay busy. He was a member of VFW Post 5118 and American Legion Post 70, in Easton, MD as well as a member of the Preston Historical Society.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Catherine Ross Quidas whom he married on October 13, 1956, a son, David Quidas and his wife Marie of Alexandria, VA, a daughter Teresa Morris and her husband Neal of Preston, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Betty Repetti of Iselin, NJ a brother William Quidas and his wife Teri Lea of Preston and many nieces and nephews. Five brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 1pm at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Reverend Clendaniel officiating. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12pm to 1pm. The family has requested that donations be made in his memory to Preston Volunteer Fire Company, Ambulance Fund, 3680 Choptank Rd, Preston, MD 21655 or the Preston Historical Society, PO Box 661, Preston, MD 21655.
