Evelyn E. Gibbs' Obituary
Evelyn E. Gibbs of Hurlock passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023 at the Pines in Easton. She was 80.
She was born August 31, 1942 in Rhodesdale, Dorchester County, Maryland the daughter of the late Linwood Hopkins and Emma Stanley Hopkins.
She was married to Willie Gibbs. She worked for many years for R.J. Reynolds and later Chun King in Cambridge. She was a life-long member of Hurlock United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Gibbs of Hurlock, two children: Daniel Hopkins and his wife Sandee of Seaford and Pamela Colbert of Pikesville; two grandchildren: Darius Hopkins and Jalen Colbert; and three sisters: Bertha Sampson of Cambridge, Emmer "Delores" Wingate of Trappe, and B. Regina Hill and her husband James of Cambridge; and sisters-in-law, Sarah Hopkins of Preston, Marylou Gibbs, and Louise Mundy (Robert) of Charleston, SC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Linwood Hopkins, Jr., and Harold Hopkins; brothers-in-law Elijah Gibbs, Robbie Gibbs; and sister-in-law Velma Gibbs.
Funeral services will be held pn Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11:00 at Hurlock United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Petersburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00.
