Evelyn Blades Hurst's Obituary
Evelyn Lois Blades Hurst died peacefully March 15, 2023. She was born on June 19, 1934 to the late Roland Blades and Mary Margaret Chambers Blades.
Evelyn graduated from Hurlock High School and was valedictorian as well as other awards. Always the head of the class. After graduation, she attended nursing school and worked at Easton Hospital for many years. Again, she was head of the class and was in a supervisor position at Easton Hospital where she worked for many years. After leaving Easton Hospital, she worked at Eastern Shore State Hospital and several nursing homes. She was an excellent nurse and always made sure things were done professionally. Her favorite pastime was reading.
Evelyn was survived by one brother, James Paul Blades, Sr. or Easton and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by three brothers: Kenneth Blades of Secretary, Leon Blades of Easton and Orville Blades of Preston. Two sisters: Sara Kral of Secretary and Rose Eason of Oxford.
She was blessed to have a caring health provider, Linda Meredith.
Burial will be private.
