Evelyn Dorothy Shalaby's Obituary
Evelyn "Sis" Dorothy Shalaby of Federalsburg, MD passed away peacefully in her home on November 22, 2024. She was 86 years old.
Born in Baltimore, MD, she was one of seven children born to the late John and Evelyn Rhodes Stachowski. She grew up in the Baltimore area and graduated from Patterson High School with the class of 1954. Evelyn later met her husband, Zachary and they eventually made their home in Federalsburg. They spent 69 wonderful years together.
Evelyn was a hard worker. She spent many years as an employee for the State of Maryland then becoming a chicken farmer with her husband. Later she went on to become a phlebotomist for Easton Memorial Hospital where she eventually retired. In her free time, she enjoyed screen painting. When she wasn't painting, you could find her in the kitchen baking her favorite cakes and sweets for her loved ones.
In addition to her husband, Zak, she is survived by her son: Kenneth Shalaby (Debbie); and daughter: Karen Shalaby; her grandchildren: April Shalaby Shifflett (DJ), Amy Shalaby, Travis Shalaby, Jessica Cain and Christopher Cain; and her siblings: Bennie Stachowski (Andrea), Buddy Stachowski (Wee), Mary Stachowski-Horton (Larry); and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews that miss her deeply.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Johnny Stachowski, Kenny Stachowski, Ritchie Stachowski; and her grandson: Jeremy Shalaby.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the request of her family.
