Florence M. Lowe Calloway's Obituary
Florence M. Lowe-Calloway formerly of Laurel, DE went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury. She was 94.
She was born on August, 15, 1915 in Crisfield, Maryland, the daughter of the late William Britton and Stella Smith Britton. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Lowe on May 28, 1964.
She worked in retail sales in the clothing industry. Florence was a member of the Rebecca Lodge IOOF, a member of Eastern Shore Gospel Choir, and a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Laurel, DE. She was a volunteer for many years at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford.
She is survived by four children, Elaine L. Woodward and her husband, Bob of Oak Orchard, DE, Wayne W. Lowe and his wife, Susan of Hebron, MD, Gregory Lowe and his wife, Vivian of Delmar, DE, Rev. Derwin B. Lowe and his wife, Carmen of Trappe, MD, seven grandchildren, Aaron Brumbley, David Lowe, Adam Lowe, Angela Lowe, Christina Heck, Kathy Lowe, and Sarah Lowe, two great-grandchildren, Emily and Ethan Heck and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruby Britton, Clara Moller, Elsie Burke, and Martha O’masta.
Funeral services will be held at Talbot Evangelistic Church on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Roland Tice officiating. Friends may call at the church from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday. Interment will take place on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel, DE.
