Frank Helmut Lenske's Obituary
Frank Helmut Lenske passed away on Saturday March 25, 2017 at Talbot Hospice in Easton, Maryland. He was 66.
Born on December 12, 1950 in Kappeln, Germany, to the late Helmut W. and Annemarie Lenske. In October of 1951 they came to the United States and made their home in St. Michaels.
Frank graduated from St. Michaels High School in 1968 and attended Chesapeake College. While in School, he excelled in Basketball, Track, and Cross Country. He held sport records in Basketball, and Track. He was also on the Chess Team.
He started working for Luebbecke’s Electric in the summer of 1967 and continued up until 1972 when he started his own Electrical Contracting business Lenske Electric. It became a family business when his wife joined him in 2000, and later his son, and stepson. Lenske Electric remained in business for 45 years up until his illness.
On June 23, 2001, he married the love of his life Tammy. They were truly soulmates, they shared many passions and interests. They loved boating, exploring, woodworking, treasure hunting, and taking long rides. Just being together is what they enjoyed most.
Frank was a true Eastern Shore Man who loved hunting, fishing, and crabbing, and anything the shore had to offer. He took great pleasure in teaching his children, and grandchildren the love of the shore. He enjoyed sharing the beautiful bounty of Crabs, Oysters, Fish, and Geese with family, friends, neighbors, and customers. Frank was an all-around nice guy who would do anything for you. He loved doing for others.
Frank was 1st Lieutenant in the SMFD, Master Electrician, Master Griller, Hunting Guide, Certified Diver, Volunteer for the Festival of Trees, Christmas in St. Michaels, President of the St. Michaels H.S. Alumni Assoc., President of the Rio Vista Comm. Assoc., he volunteered his electrical services to Churches, Associations, and people in need.
Survived by: His wife Tammy of St. Michaels, son Richard Lenske and his fiancé Samantha Higgins of Easton, Tammy’s children who he was father to, daughter Katherine Groce and her husband Clark, son Benjamin Garlock of Easton. His Grandchildren Gavin, Madisyn, and the newest addition Bryson Groce of Queen Anne. His sister Renate Rice and her husband Montia Jr., of St. Michaels. Numerous Nephews and Nieces, Montia and Melissa Rice III and great nephew Montia IV, Savanah Rice and fiancé Chris Price. Sarah, Emily, Joe, and Sam Kennedy. Jacob and Amanda Burkett and great nephew Avery. Nichole and Will Perry and Audrey LaMothe. Cousin Fran Brennan and husband Mike and family. Klaus Liebig and wife Anne and family. Cousin Gunther Lenske of Germany. In-Laws Bernard Kennedy and Ellen Patten of AZ, Ann and Walter Blackwell of NC, Brother and Sister-in-laws Mike Kennedy and wife Deborah, Pam Burkett and Kim and Mike LaMothe all of VA. A Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2017 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, St. Michaels, MD with a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
