Frank "Ed" Daffin's Obituary
Frank E. Daffin Jr (Ed) of Tunnis Mills, 93, passed away on April 11, 2024 at the Talbot Hospice House. Born in St. Michaels on June 25, 1930, he was the eldest son of the late Frank E. and Rebecca Roe Daffin.
Ed grew up working in the carpentry trade alongside his father and uncles. From an early age he fell in love with aviation and was a licensed pilot by the time he turned 16. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War, where in addition to flying he received radar/electronics training. After his discharge he spent 30 years working for IBM in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Germany before retiring back home to the Eastern Shore. Ed had the good fortune to be married to two wonderful women, Ethel Holland and Joyce Wilson, both of whom preceeded him in death. He was also predeceased by his parents, and brother Robert.
He is survived by son Charles Daffin (Jean) of Easton; daughter Teresa Blackwell of Aiken, South Carolina; daughter Debbie Denton (Bryan) of Walstonburg, North Carolina; grandson Mike Daffin (Katie), great-grand-daughters Piper and Ryleigh Daffin, and extended family and friends. He was a member of Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
A memorial church service will be held on Friday, April 19th at 11 a.m. at the St. Michaels Mission Church, 109 Lincoln Avenue, St. Michaels. Interment will be in Kenly, North Carolina.
