Franklin M. Adams' Obituary
Franklin M. Adams of Federalsburg passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 84.
He was born on December 9, 1940 in Ridgely, Maryland; the son of the late Herman F. Adams, Jr. and Gertrude Eberhard Adams.
He graduated from Federalsburg High School with the class of 1958. After his education, he was a barber for a short time, and later opened Frank M. Adams Insurance in 1968 in Federalsburg. He truly loved and cared for his customers over the years, and was very involved in the community. He served with the Jaycees, Federalsburg Vol. Fire Company Ambulance Squad, was a member of Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church, and numerous other community services.
He was married to Marjorie Ann McWilliams on August 31, 1958 and they made their home in Federalsburg. She preceded him in death on February 6, 2017.
He led the way for industry in Federalsburg and Caroline County. He served for many years for Caroline Economic Development and was instrumental in gaining many Federalsburg businesses and industry growth. An Industrial Park was named after him after its completion. He had a heart for his family, business and Federalsburg.
In his free time, Frank loved wood working, skiing, golfing, and spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by three children: Deborah Adams, Cynthia Adams Rifenburg, and Troy Adams, five grandchildren: April Shifflett and her husband D.J., Crystal Woerner, Amy Briggs and her husband Lavonne, Brian MacDonald and his wife Lauren, and Jonathan Fetters; 11 great-grandchildren: Trent & Carter Bates, Shelbi and Ashton Briggs, Jace and Alayna Shifflett, Dakota Hickerson, Jacob Woerner, Brayden MacDonald, Shelby and Harvey Ray; and one brother Bunky Adams and his wife Dottie.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Adams, and three grandchildren: Amber Morris, Joshua Shalaby and Jeremy Shalaby.
Funeral services will be on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 1:00 at the Union United Methodist Church in Federalsburg with the Reverend Marie Coulbourne and his son Reverend Troy Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. The family will receive friends on Sunday November 30, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 at the the church and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Food and fellowship following the service at Federalsburg Fire Hall.
