Franklin Kenton's Obituary
Franklin N. Kenton of Laurel, DE passed away on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. He was 76.
He was born July 4, 1933 in Choptank, Caroline Co., MD, the son of the late Charles Virgil Kenton and Matilda Lubba Kenton. His wife, Barbara Louise Passwaters Kenton, preceded him in death on Sept. 5, 2007.
He was a truck driver for Tri-Gas and Oil retiring after 36 years of service. He was an honorary member of Federalsburg VFW Post # 5246, and was a former member of Easton Moose Lodge #1520. He enjoyed fishing and being with his
family.
He is survived by 3 children, Franklin Anthony Kenton and his wife Rebecca, and Diana Columna and her husband Charles, all of Laurel, and Deborah Ann Ruf and her husband Michael, of Hurlock, MD; 4 grandchildren, Melissa Jewell and her husband Tony, Heather Sapp her husband Derek, Derrick Emory Payne and Darrin Payne; 4 great-grandchildren, Trey Jewell, Richard Armstrong, III, Hali Sapp and Brayden Darryl Payne; 3 sisters, Irene Chambers, of Choptank, Betty Lare of Preston, MD, and Wanda North of Henderson, MD, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Charles H. Kenton, David W. Kenton, Alice Perry and Audrey Mae Willoughby.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
