Frederick H. Nichols' Obituary
Frederick H. Nichols, 88, of Bridgeville, De. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford.
He was born on August 31, 1928 to the late Raymond and Victoria Hammond Nichols. Freddie attended schools in Caroline County. He later entered the U.S. Army where he served our country. After the Army he worked several different jobs—Draper Foods, DuPont and finally Solo Cup Company in the Facilities Maintenance area, retiring after thirty years of service.
Freddie loved his family, his church family and his Solo Cup friends-many who were “like family”. He never met a stranger -he treated everyone he met like a friend. He was an avid sports fan; especially of the Baltimore Orioles and his favorite football team the Philadelphia Eagles. He will be fondly remembered for his keen sense of humor, his corny jokes and rhymes and playing loud music while cruising in his car. Most of all Freddie was a faithful servant to the Lord. He was a devoted member of Zion United Methodist Church in Federalsburg where he served on the Board of Trustees, was a member of the United Methodist Men and served as church groundskeeper for many years.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by Cleo M. Nichols, Alonia Presley, Dorothy Nichols, Earl Nichols, and Roland Nichols.
Freddie leaves to cherish his memories six daughters, Wanda Molock (Danny) of Denton, Md., Brenda Dukes of Federalsburg, Md., Veronica Camper (Gary) of Bridgeville, De., Loretta Corsey (Charles) of Seaford, De., D. Lynn Bowden (Jerry) of Jacksonville, N.C. and Yvette Cannon (Lori Van Hoyt) of Salisbury, Md., one son Jonathan Crapper of Dover, De., two stepchildren LaMont Cannon of Richmond, Va LaVerne Cannon of Bridgeville, De., two sisters Kathleen Nichols of Philadelphia, Pa., and Ethel Turner of Federalsburg, Md., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 12 noon at the Union United Methodist Church in Federalsburg with the Reverend Dr. Vanessa S. Lee officiating. Internment will follow at Trinity Church yard in Dublin Hill. Family will receive friends on Friday evening November 25th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Frampton Funeral Home and two hours prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church Building Fund, ATTN: Church Treasurer 3389 American Corner Rd., Federalsburg, Md.
