Gary Beverly Johnson's Obituary
Gary B. Johnson passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the University of Maryland Medical System at Easton. He was 52.
He was born on January 13, 1965 in Alexandria, VA, the son of the late John D. Johnson, Jr., and Martha “Lulu” May Johnson.
Gary graduated from St. Michaels High School with the class of 1984. He married Amy Bryan Johnson on September 11, 1993 and they made their home in Royal Oak.
An avid outdoorsman, Gary loved hunting, fishing and mostly going to drag racing events with his closest friends. He truly enjoyed being outdoors and would often invite friends to his hunting blind even if they did not hunt. Gary was also known for his keen sense of humor; as well as his unconditional caring approach to all his friends and family. He will be remembered as the glue that kept the family together. The activity Gary enjoyed most was spending time with his wife and son whom he loved with all his heart.
Gary was self-employed, but also enjoyed working at the family business, “Lu-Ev Framing Shop and Gallery” where he showed his true self as an excellent salesman and conversationalist. He was also well known for his mechanical and fabrication talents to his friends and customers.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Bryan Johnson and their son, Cole both of Royal Oak, three brothers, John D Johnson, III and his wife Nedra of Springfield, VA; Robert Lee Johnson and his wife Anne of Easton, and Wayne Curtis Johnson of Easton, Aunts, Uncles, In-laws and many nieces and nephews and his two beloved dogs, Bubba and Snuggles.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11:00 at Saint Marks United Methodist Church, 100 Peachblossom Rd Easton, MD with the Pastor Drew Jensen officiating. Interment will follow at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be sent to the Shore United Bank, 18 East Dover Street, Easton, MD 21601 for the benefit of Cole Johnson’s education.
