Gary Lee Thomas' Obituary
Gary Lee Thomas, Sr. of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. He was 52.
He was born January 14, 1961 in Easton, MD, the son of Della Gary Thomas Eiler of Florence, Mississippi, and the late David Thomas.
He was a member of the Federalsburg Lions Club in which he was “Lion Tamer” for several years. He was a Little League grounds keeper and was a state and tournament director’s assistant where he held many offices for the area and for Federalsburg Little League. He later assisted South Caroline Little League as well in which he was able to share his love for baseball. He was a member of Hills Point Gang where he helped with the sound system and the Boat Club. He enjoyed gardening, going fishing, and was an avid reader. Gary loved to help his friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his mother Della Gary Thomas Eiler, his wife, Bonnie Thomas, five children, Gary Thomas, Jr. of Cleveland, MS, James Edward Thomas (Amanda) of Princeton, KY, Carolyn Blades (Mike) of Ridgely, MD, April Collier of Cordova, MD, Patrick Neff (Emiliana) of Rock Falls, IL, six grandchildren, Stephanie, Jackie, Sean, David (Kayla), Emily, Caitlyn, one great-grand, Skylar, a sister, Frances Thomas of Atlanta, GA, and several other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Union United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dan Gedman and the Reverend Denzil Cheek officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home.
