Karen Smith
Mr Edmonds was one of a kind. He was my English teacher at Forest Park in the 1960’s when racism was alive and well. As a black teenager in a white class he enjoyed me and my intelligence in an environment that tried to smother my spirit. He encouraged me and is someone whom I will never forget. His attitude was one of the reasons why I continued to write throughout my life. He was smart, witty, wild, wonderful and wise. I loved him. I still do.
