George R."Peaches" Marine's Obituary
George R. “Peaches” Marine, of Hurlock, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. He was 75.
He was born on January 8, 1941 in Rhodesdale, a son of the late Alonzo W. Marine and Inez Todd Marine.
George graduated from North Dorchester High School in 1959. He was employed for more than 30 years for ACME Supermarket where he held various positions throughout his career. He was an avid sports fan especially of the Baltimore Orioles. In fact, one of his favorite past times was watching various sporting events on television. George was a member of the VFW Post # 5246 in Federalsburg and the American Legion Post #243 in Hurlock.
He is survived by his sister, Sara Beckwith of Cambridge; three brothers, Donald Marine and his wife Eileen of Illinois, Russell Marine and his wife Shirley of Salisbury, and Jim Marine and his wife Louise of Seaford, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by a brother, Al Marine and a sister, Martha Bland.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Reverend Dan Gedman officiating. Interment will follow at Unity Washington Cemetery in Hurlock. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
