Gerald Lee Plutschak's Obituary
Gerald Lee Plutschak of Preston, Maryland departed this life peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday July 19, 2026 at Eden Green in Denton, Maryland. He was 90 years old.
Gerald was born on December 27, 1935 in Easton, Maryland, the son of William Emil and Almira Deford Plutschak. He married the love of his life Anna Mae on September 22, 1955, and they were married until she was called home in 2006. Gerald was also affectionately known as "Sonny" and "Pop" to a few chosen people that loved him. Farming was his joy, and even after he was no longer able to physically do the labor, he would sit on his front porch and watch the boys harvest and till the ground.
He dedicated his career to Preston Trucking Company for twenty-nine years before retiring in 1990.
Gerald is survived by his children Mark Lee Plutschak and his wife Bertie of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Robin Lynn Van Schaik and her partner Diane of Greensboro, Maryland and Christa Jean Breeding and her husband Mark of Federalsburg, Maryland; his seven grandchildren Heather Hefferman, Angela Nelson, Mark Anthony Plutschak, Whitney Algier, Tara Neal, Lauren Winstead and Justin Breeding; and his sixteen great-grandchildren Ethan Nelson, Grace Hefferman, Bryden Van Schaik, Ryan Hefferman, Brad Nelson, Gabe Plutschak, Emma Nelson, Ayden Neal, Grayson Plutschak, Macey Neal, Christopher Winstead, Cole Winstead, Clayton Winstead, Sutton Breeding, Blaire Breeding and Sydney Breeding.
A funeral service will be held at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 starting at 1pm. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 12:30 pm until 1pm. Interment will follow at Junior Order Cemetery in Preston.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Gerald's memory may be made to Eden Green, 410 Colonial Dr., Denton, MD 21629
