Gertrude Briggs' Obituary
Gertrude Briggs passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022 at the Corsica Hills Nursing Home in Centreville, Maryland. She was 71. She was born on October 8, 1951 in Hurlock, Maryland, the daughter of the late Annie Mae Jackson. She went to school in Dorchester County Maryland graduating from the former Mace's Lane High School. She worked at Maryland Plastics Inc. in Federalsburg, MD for several years as well as Black & Decker in Easton, MD. Eventually she attended Del-Mar-Va Beauty Academy in Salisbury, MD where she became a licensed Cosmetologist. She loved doing hair and did so for many years. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 40 some years. She was a fulltime pioneer for many of those years until she was no longer able to. What she loved more than doing hair was talking to all who would listen about God's word, the Bible. She was preceded in death by her mother and two siblings, Lilly Mae Dickerson and Sally Anne Todd. She is survived by four siblings, Fred Jackson, Jr., Robert Todd, Patricia Todd and Teresa Todd as well several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great niece and nephew. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 12:00pm at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg, MD with Elder Keith McQueen speaking. A public viewing will be held from 11am-12pm before the service. Following the funeral service Interment will be held at Federal Hill Cemetery in Federalsburg, MD.
