Gordon E. Butler, Jr.'s Obituary
Gordon “Butch” Butler, Jr. of Rhodesdale passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge. He was 64.
He was born on April 11, 1946 in Easton, Maryland, son of the late Gordon E. Butler, Sr. and Clementine Lee Butler.
He graduated from North Dorchester High School. He was an electrician, retiring from E.I. DuPont in 2004 after forty years of service. After retirement he worked as a driver for Gene’s Limousines.
Gordon was a member of the Woodland Ferry Beagle Club, the 25 year club of E.I. DuPont, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Secretary where he sang in the choir. He was a devoted father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Beverly Kay Mills Butler, whom he married, August 29, 1964, three daughters, Renea Warner and her husband, John of Secretary, Jill Meyers of East New Market, Lori Nagel and her husband, Mark of Federalsburg, five grandchildren, John Gordon Warner, Ethan Blaine Meyers, Jocelyn Renea Meyers, Kaylyn Jane Nagel, Emma Lyn Nagel, a sister, Robin Lynn Parker of Columbia, two nieces, Allison Parker of Columbia, Cathy Collins of East New Market, a nephew, Bret Coulbourne of Preston, his mother-in-law, I. Martha White Mills of Federalsburg and many other cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Coulbourne and a brother who died at birth, Jerry Lee Butler.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Secretary with Rev. Brad Shutt officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. on Saturday. Interment will follow at Brookview U.M.C. Cemetery.
