H. Gene Evans' Obituary
Hubert “Gene” Evans passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Talbot Hospice in Easton, Maryland. He was 87.
He was born on September 7, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late Troy H. Evans and Edna (Simpson) Evans.
Gene was trained as a medic in the Air Force and reached the rank of Master Sergeant. After retiring, Gene and his wife Phyllis moved to Neavitt, MD, where he remained throughout his life. Gene was a talented artist who enjoyed painting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Phyllis Evans, and his siblings, Richard Evans and Cynthia Jenken.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Chris Hovey of Winston Salem, NC. Nephew Curtis Hovey and wife Anne of Fairfax Station, VA, and niece Kirsten Morin of Southport, NC, great-nieces and nephews, Caroline, Charlotte, and Tristen Hovey, Alice Morin, Margaret Miller, Angelica Lynn Hovey Miller, and Kelly Miller, and great-great-nephews, Damian and Robert. Niece Janet Brown Hammed of Bozman, MD, nephew Ralph Brown (JoAnn) of St. Michaels, MD, great niece Susan Teneza (Eric) of Lutherville, MD, and great great nieces Miria and Temari, nephew Thomas Blake (Jackie) of Neavitt, MD, great nieces Jana Blake of Trophy Club, TX, and Jill Morton (Robert) of Omaha, NE, and great great nephews Christian and Brody, nephew Rodney Blake(Danielle) of Trophy Club, TX, and great niece Stephanie and great nephew Christopher, as well as extended family Mary Granger of Neavitt, MD, Carroll Wesley Newcomb (Becky) of Richmond, VA, William Newcomb (Kim) of Newport News, VA, David Newcomb (Emily) of Cary, NC, Chris Newcomb of Richmond, VA, and Mary Newcomb Elflow (Simon) of Augsburg, Germany, and many more Newcomb children.
