Harold Lee Lord's Obituary
Harold "Greasy" Lord lost his battle with cancer yesterday morning, Thursday, December 4, 2014. He was the oldest of five children born to Lee Wilson and Irene Blades Lord on May 29, 1939.
He grew up in Skinner's Run in Dorchester County. He graduated from North Dorchester High School in 1957 and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He also served in the United States Air Force where he received training to be a radar/electronics technician. He worked for Johns Hopkins Applied Laboratories for NASA at Wallops Island, VA and Comcast in Salisbury. He was a member of the American Legion Post 93 in Pocomoke City.
Harold will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor and patience. In this past year he has inspired friends, family and complete strangers with his perseverance through surgeries and treatments. Through it all he has reminded us that we can get through anything Ten Minutes at a Time.
Harold is survived by his two children Barbara Lord of Rhodesdale and Dwayne Lord of Tampa and his ex-wife Fay Lord of Seaford. He is also survived by his two brothers, Gerald Lord (Laurene) of Federalsburg and Phil Lord (Donna Kay) of Salisbury and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Sonya Eaton and a brother Jeff Lord.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday evening from 4-6 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home, 216 North Main Street, Federalsburg, MD. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Ten Minutes at a Time, c/o Relay for Life of Wicomico County,1315 Mt. Herman Rd., Suite D, Salisbury, MD 21804.
