Harold James Wood's Obituary
Harold James Wood, also known as “Duke” or “Woody” passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Caroline Nursing Home in Denton, Maryland. He was 85.
He was born on born on January 9, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late
Carl James Wood & Bessie Olive (Scott) Wood.
He served in the Merchant Marines from 1945 to 1946. He worked at Bethlehem Steel in Dundalk, Maryland from 1946 until 1983. He was married to Elizabeth Marie Parrish on November 21, 1947. She preceded him in death on December 18, 1978. He was a Member of the Moose Lodge.
He is survived by four children, Carl James Wood III, of Charlestown, WV, Harold J. Wood of Pasadena, Maryland, Frances Lee Steward of Preston, MD and Donald Scott Wood of Charlestown, West Virginia, 16 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and one brother, Harry Donald Wood of Baltimore, MD.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Louise (Wood) Rey Nick also known as “Peanuts” on May 18, 1988, one brother, Carl James Wood, II on July 18, 1998.
Services will be announced at a later date and at the convenience of the family.
