Harry Lee Purdham, Jr.'s Obituary
Harry Lee Purdham, Jr. formerly of Federalsburg passed away on April 4, 2016 in North Richland Hills, TX at the age of 77.
He was born on August 2, 1938, the son of the late Harry Lee Purdham, Sr. and Eva Moreland Purdham. On June 13, 1959, he married the former Sylvia Cox, who preceded him in death on December 9, 2009.
Harry attended Anne Arundel County Public Schools, where he graduated in 1955. After graduation, he entered the United State Air Force where he served as an Airman Second Class. He attended college, where he received his associate’s degree. Harry was employed as a project manager in the construction industry for over 37 years and a pastor for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg.
He is survived by his son, Harry Purdham, III of Federalsburg, three daughters, Debra Purdham of North Richland Hill, TX, Michelle Purdham of Lexington, KY, and Penny Wright of Pasadena, eight grandchildren, Michael and Dana Martin of Lexington, KY, William Purdham of Federalsburg, Mark Purdham, Jr. of Lexington, KY, Harry Lee Purdham, IV of Federalsburg, Bethany Wright, Amanda Wright, and Sabrina Wright of Pasadena, four great grandchildren, Kaylei and Kylie Martin, and Zeke Jackson and Evaleigh Morman, two brothers, Vernon Purdham of Daytona Beach, FL, and Ronald Purdham of Glen Burnie, and two sister, Eva “Peg” Clark of Crofton, and Ruth Buettner of Winchester, VA.
Besides his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a son Mark Purdham Sr., a sister Katherine Fisher, and a brother Dwayne Purdham.
A celebration of Harry’s Life will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg. Interment will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made in Harry’s honor to the Park Lane Church of God, 209 Park Lane, Federalsburg, MD 21632.
