Harry F. Holecheck's Obituary
Harry Francis Holecheck of Williamsburg, MD passed away on Monday, Jan. 21, 2008 at the age of 79.
He was born July 10, 1928 near Preston, MD, the son of the late Louis C. Holecheck, Sr. and Marie Navratil Holecheck.
He was a graduate from Hurlock High School Class of 1946. He was a WW II Army Veteran receiving the WW II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan; he served as a sergeant at Camp Stone, CA, with the Battery C, 31st Field Artillery Battalion in Seoul, Korea. He married Mary Elizabeth Higgins on January 25, 1958. He retired from E.I. DuPont in Seaford, DE after 36 ½ years of service, retiring in May 1985. He also enjoyed farming and had raised beef cattle. He was a lifetime member of the Hurlock American Legion Post 43, a member of the Dorchester Farm Bureau, and was a former member of the V.F. W. Post #5246. Harry’s greatest love was family and farming.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Mary Holecheck, two sons, Michael Holecheck of Federalsburg, and Charles Holecheck and his wife, Diane, of Easton, one daughter, Ruth Anne Edwards of Seaford, DE, four granddaughters, Lauren Edwards of Seaford, Erika and Kayla Holecheck of Easton, and Maggie Jo Holecheck of Cambridge; three sisters, Lillian Wanex and her husband, Leonard, of Easton, Alice Fralick and her husband, Bill, of High Springs, FL and Barbara Bramble and her husband, Marc, of Cambridge; one brother, Joe Holecheck of Federalsburg, a sister-in-law, Kathy Holecheck, and several nieces and nephews. He was God-father to Lisa Tull and Pam Knodole. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Holecheck and a brother, Louis Holecheck, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Pastor Bruce Revel officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Beulah, MD. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wed. from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Holecheck, Charles Holecheck, Billy Fralick, Lenny Wanex, Scott Love, and Kevin Gillispie. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Donald Powell, Paul Faulkner, and Walt Campbell.
