Harvey Major Smith's Obituary
Harvey Major Smith, son of the late Clara M. Foreman Smith and Daniel S. Smith, Sr. was born on January 16, 1946 in Easton, MD and departed this life on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Easton Memorial Hospital, Easton MD at the age of 68.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Debbie M. Wilson and Jerry Griffin and five siblings: Leon H. Smith, Perry B. Smith, Robert L. Smith, Irene “Jane” Smith and Betty Flamer.
Harvey attended Easton High School in Easton, MD.
He was very skilled with his hands and worked as a carpenter for Gallo in Harrington, Delaware for many years. He also worked throughout Maryland as a mason tender and roofer.
In his spare time, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish fond memories of him a special companion of 35 years, Mary V. Williams of Preston, MD; four children; Tyrone Griffin, Denton, MD; Iris Griffin, Indiana; Joyce Thompson (Troy), Federalsburg, MD and Charles Williams of Preston, MD; ten grandchildren: Rolanda Jones (Detrick), Dover, DE; Keisha Church (Alvin), Virginia Beach, VA; Henry Wilson, Nevada; Pamela Nichols, Cambridge, MD; Latrease Griffin, Indiana; Shanna Friend, Federalsburg, MD; Shona Griffin, Easton, MD; Angel Green, Troy Thompson, Jr., and Brandi Thompson, Federalsburg, MD; six great-grandchildren; three brothers; Daniel L. Smith, Sr. (Marian), Bridgeville, DE; Joseph Smith ( Minister Pam), Durham, NC; William Smith, Easton, MD; three sisters: Clara Jones (Jerry), Federalsburg, MD, Mary Etta Smith and Mabel Smith, Easton, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
