Hazel P. Anthony's Obituary
Hazel P. Anthony of East New Market, Maryland passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Caroline Nursing Home in Denton, Maryland. She was 80.
She was born on June 3, 1933 in Tilghman, Talbot County, Maryland the daughter of the late Kennedy Phillips and Mary Hause Phillips.
She was married to William Henry Deen, Sr. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1967. She was then married to Paul E. Anthony. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1989. She was a camera operator at Waverly Press in Easton for many years. She was a member of the Federalsburg VFW Post #5246 where she served in the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed flea markets, gardening, cooking, knitting and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three children, William Henry Deen, Jr, of Ft. Pierce, FL, Bruce Lee Deen of Vero Beach, FL, and Elbert Ray Deen of Waxhas, NC, 4 grandchildren, Daniel Deen, Jessica Deen, Michelle Deen, and Stephanie Deen; four siblings: Evelyn Hopkins of Ft. Pierce, FL, Harold Phillips and Kennedy Phillips, Jr., both of Ruffin, SC and Mary Frances Patrick of Severn, MD; two step-children, Joan Towsend of Churchill, MD, and Diane Bilson of Wilmington, DE.
She was preceded in death by two siblings: Betty Benda and Raymond Minister; and her faithful companion, Henry Bishoff.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Reverend Glenn Staehli officiating. Interment will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Beulah. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00.
