Hazel H. (Hammond) Morris' Obituary
Hazel H. Morris Easton, Hazel Hammond Morris of Easton, died at Genesis Healthcare “the Pines†on Thursday, May 15, 2014. She was 85. Born near Centreville, Queen Anne’s Co. she was the daughter of the late, James and Bessie Schuyler Hammond. She attended Queen Anne’s Co. public schools. On June 21, 1944 she married Herman Redman Morris. Mrs. Morris worked at various places in the Centreville area and had a strong work ethic. After she lost her husband in an automobile accident in 1952, Mrs. Morris had to raise her three young sons alone. She enjoyed the simple things in her life; birds, flowers, crafts, puzzles, lighthouses and playing with her grand-children and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Morris is survived by her two sons; John Morris (Marilyn) of Easton, Robert Morris (Nancy) of Centreville; eight grandchildren; Chad, Haley, Carroll, Lori, Cathy, Stephanie, Carol and Michael, and many great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Frances Hammond of Centerville. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son; James Morris, a brother; Carroll Hammond, and a sister; Anna Hammond. A graveside service will held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, 11:00AM at the Chesterfield Cemetery, in Centreville, MD. Memorial donations may be made to St. Marks Ministry to the Aged, 212 Bay Street, Easton, MD. 21601. Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home, St. Michaels.
