Hazel Congleton Loscomb's Obituary
Hazel C. Loscomb of Easton, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, at The Pines-Genesis Center in Easton. She was 82 years old.
She was born on October 3, 1926 in Kentucky, daughter of the late Walter and Dora Alice Wilson Congleton.
She was the third of seven children. Her family moved to Baltimore during World War II, where she met and married William E. “Geezy” Loscomb of Oxford, MD. They were married on August 28, 1944. After the war they returned to Oxford to make their home. Hazel was a homemaker for many years and then went to work at McCrory’s Five & Dime. She also worked at Shearer’s Jewelry store and retired at the age of 80 from Harrison’s Flowers where she had worked for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Loscomb and one brother, Charles Buford “Boots” Congleton.
Hazel is survived by her children, Judy Ann Lloyd and William E. Loscomb, Jr., (Judi) both of Easton, three grandsons, Scott Lloyd (Kathryn) of Rockville, MD, Christopher Lloyd (April) of Easton, and William E. Loscomb, III (Megan) of Waterville, VT, two granddaughters, Sarah Chase Loscomb of Wilmington, NC and Janine Jacobs (Michael), four great-grandsons, Skye, Griffon, and Landon Lloyd, and Sean Jacobs, two great-granddaughters, Ella Loscomb and Taylor Jacobs. She is also survived by four sisters, Marie Allega (Gene), Pauline Mayhew, Allice Jacobs (Jim), Mary Martha Congleton and one brother, Issac Walter Congleton (Dorothy) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Oxford United Methodist Church in Oxford, MD, on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jay Bunting officiating.
