Hazel Emily Christopher's Obituary
Hazel Emily Hopkins Christopher of Preston, MD passed away on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007 at Caroline Home for Hospice in Denton, MD. She was 101 years old.
She was born June 10, 1906 in Caroline County, MD, the daughter of the late Phillip and Sadie E. Williamson Hopkins. Her husband, William Earl Christopher, preceded her in death in 1972.
She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed baking and making cakes for many people, and she would visit shut-ins and nursing home residents. She attended Bethlehem Wesleyan Church and had helped with Vacation Bible School for many years.
She is survived by six children, Phillip Christopher of Old Saybrook, CT, Erma Boyles of Preston, Peggy Townsend of Northampton, PA, Edna “Bootsie” Hart of Preston, Donald Christopher of Cambridge, MD and Rose Wheaton of Seaford, DE, 21 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Roxie Crow of Tilghman, MD, a brother, Irvin Hopkins of Harrington, DE and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six children, Harold Christopher, Roger Christopher, Goldie Christopher, William Christopher, Jr., Paul Christopher, and Ronald Christopher.
Funeral services will be held on Wed. Aug. 29, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Glenn Staehli officiating. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston, MD.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
